The Good Gym Project

The lovely people at Good Gym are looking for more projects for their mission runs. These are on Saturdays and runners turn up at a project and give 2-3 hours labour. This could be gardening, painting, litter picking, leaflet dropping... that sort of thing.

Maybe you have buildings that have untidy beds? Or scruffy fences etc?

To refer your project, just call head office on 0203 432 3920 and ask them to include it in their calendar. You need to supply tools and materials, and get rid of any rubbish generated.

Townsend Community Growers

The next meeting to take forward the new growing space at the rear of Birch Drive will take place on Tuesday 5 December, 7.00pm at Townsend Community Centre. Everyone welcome to attend.

The space at the rear of Birch Drive has been transformed into a community growing space!

A big thank you to everyone who helped this happen, including the Sustainable Food City Project, Townsend Community Association, IdVerde, Eco Sustainable Solutions, a team of volunteers from Ageas and of course local residents!

The funding for the project came from the Post Code Lottery.

There is a mix of individual and communal plots for local residents. We will soon have news of when the tutor will start, the tutor will be available once a week (for a year) to offer guidance and know-how on growing.

Everyone welcome to be part of this project.
