African Caribbean Lunch Club

Do you know people of African Caribbean heritage who would enjoy this lunch club. Members enjoy trips and good food and company - here's a story from members Janette Skinner and Frank Graham

Recently the club members have had two outings, one to Salisbury and one to Portsmouth. Both were really interesting and enjoyable and well attended by the members. The routine is for the transport to leave from Bournemouth at 10am and lunch is booked in a local restaurant about 1.30. This gives the members time to look about the town at places of interest and do some shopping if they want, and of course have an enjoyable lunch. An important part of the day for me and my husband is spending time with friends, socialising and interacting with a variety of different cultures and seeing new towns and places of interest. The transport which was arranged for these two trips was very good. The drivers were punctual and helpful and I’m sure we will be using them again. These days out are very important to the development of the club and the relationships within it. Frank specially enjoys the stimulation of being with friends. The mixture of people is very interesting and hopefully we will have more adventures soon.

Dorset Devils

A big thank you to Ron Nickson from Dorset Devils who helps keep Townsend litter free, so far Ron has collected 122 black sacks of litter in Townsend as well as reported through environmental issues using the MyBournemouth app.

Dorset Devils are 148 residents of Bournemouth, Dorset, who love where they live but dislike the sight of litter and its effects on our community and environment, especially wildlife and marine life.

Dorset Devils are prepared to tidy up whenever they feel like it and when we each have the time. We aim to be visible in the community in the hope that our presence will encourage others to manage their own litter.

We engage with members of the public, report any eyesores and try to have as much fun as possible!

Our big black bag count 2980+.
