Just a reminder that the old £20 note with the image of Edward Elgar (see below) on the reverse was officially dropped as legal tender as of 30 June 2010.
These notes may still be accepted by shops, but they are under no obligation to do so. Banks may swap these for newer notes, but it will be up to the individual bank whether or not they do this.
If you find that you have any of these notes and that you are unable to swap these at the bank, they can be changed by going direct to the Bank of England who will honour the exchange.
