Townsend Jewell Academy, Bournemouth

Jewell Academy

Jewell Academy is a primary school in the heart of Townsend which opened in September 2013, and is growing year on year. It was rated as outstanding in all areas by Ofsted in June 2015, a remarkable achievement in such a short space of time. Visit the Jewell Academy website for more information.

The academy offers 60 places per year group and will eventually accommodate 420 primary school pupils between the ages of 4-11. It also has a pre-school for 3 year olds.

The Academy has beautiful, spacious facilities with airy and bright classrooms, two halls, a nurture room, several large group rooms for 1:1 or small group work and space for a library and food technology room. There are a wide range of outdoor areas, including dedicated space for the youngest pupils, climbing frames, an allotment, a forest area, two ball game courts, two playgrounds and a large field. It also has its own kitchen and produces fresh hot meals on site every day.

The Academy provides a high standard of community focussed education, with outstanding teaching and learning, supporting pupils with a range of needs, and creating an engaging world-class education and learning environment which benefits the whole community. This will raise the aspirations of young people in and around the local area and to provide excellent opportunities ensuring that they can reach their fullest potential from an early age.
